 e American foreign policy set in 1823, that the United States forewarned t
 he imperial European powers against interfering in the affairs of the newl
 y independent Latin American states or potential United States territories
 . The Monroe Doctrine set the stage for continued American expansion, west
  across this great and wondrous land. Join us as we explore the history an
 d impact of the Monroe Doctrine.\r\nMark Albertson is the historical resea
 rch editor for the Army Aviation magazine, and the historian for the Army 
 Aviation Association of America. He has taught classes on military history
  at Norwalk Community College as well as the Lifetime Learners Institute. 
 Albertson has authored several books on military history.\r\nLike all Sout
 hbury Public Library programs, this event is free to attend and open to an
 yone regardless of town of residency. Registration is required. This progr
