 he 21st century, this Â presentation will give you the basic information t
 o beginâ€”and advanceâ€”your research into Â New England records. In prepa
 ration for the release of the Sixth Edition of Genealogistâ€™s Â Handbook 
 for New England Research, this presentation will give you the basic histor
 ical Â context, general organization of records, go-to resources, and uniq
 ue strategies that will give Â you a good foundation to succeed in tracing
  your New England ancestors. NOTE: New Â England includes the present-day 
 states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Â Hampshire, Rhode Island
 , and Vermont.Â David Allen Lambert, Chief Genealogist has been on the sta
 ff of American Ancestors/NEHGS Â since 1993 and is an internationally reco
 gnized speaker on the topics of genealogy and Â history. He has authored m
 any articles in the New England Historical and Genealogical Register, Â th
 e New Hampshire Genealogical Record, Rhode Island Roots, Mayflower Descend
 ant, Â and American Ancestors magazine; and is the author of eleven books 
 including A Guide to Â Massachusetts Cemeteries and Vital Records of Stoug
 hton, Massachusetts, to the end of the year Â 1850. David is an elected Fe
 llow of the Massachusetts Historical Society in Boston, Mass., and a Â lif
 e member of the New Hampshire Society of the Cincinnati and the General So
 ciety of the Â War of 1812. David also serves as the tribal genealogist fo
 r the Massachusett Tribe Â at Punkapoag in Massachusetts. His areas of exp
 ertise include New England and Atlantic Â Canadian records of the 17th thr
 ough 21st century; American and international militaryÂ records; DNA resea
 rch; and Native American and African American genealogical research in Â N
 ew England.Â Like all Southbury Public Library programs, this event is fre
