Event Details

Join us for the return of Berkshire Jazz Orchestra as they return for a fall concert featuring vocalist Jan Maki with selections from the American Song Book.

The Berkshire Jazz Orchestra (BJO) is a 17-piece ensemble based in Fairfield County. The band includes many professional musicians and music educators with great skill and amazing creative solo abilities, who believe in keeping the big band genre fresh and alive!

The BJO presents big band repertoire from classic swing bands such as Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington, Count Basie as well as music from more contemporary groups.  The BJO's wonderful vocalist, Jan Maki, performs classic songs from the American Song Book made popular by Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Bette Midler and Natalie Cole, among others.

Like all Southbury Public Library programs, this event is free to attend and open to anyone regardless of town of residency. Registration is required. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Southbury Public Library.  For more information about this program, please email Rebecca at rrandall@biblio.org or call the reference desk at 203-262-0626 ext 130.
