Self-Service Print/Copy/Scan
We offer self-service printing, copying, and scanning to the public. Reference Librarians are happy to walk you through how to print, copy, or scan and answer any questions you may have.
We offer printing from both our public library computers and mobile printing from personal devices.
Library computers shut down 30 minutes before closing.
Our public scanner is free to use and can scan to a USB drive or email address. It features an 11"x17" document bed as well as an auto document feeder that can scan single-sided, letter-sized documents. It can scan to PDF, JPG, PNG, and Word Document at up to 600 DPI resolution.
We do not offer faxing; please call the Reference Department at 203-262-0626 ext. 130 for alternatives.
How to Mobile Print
Printing
You can print from one of our public computers or from your own device.
Once you have sent your print job (whether from a library computer or your own device), release it from either one of our Print Release Terminals. They are located:
- First Floor near the Reference Desk: Black & White and Color
- Second Floor in the Children's Department: Black & White only
How to Release Your Print Job(s):
1. Put your money into the tan cash machine next to the Print Release Terminal you are using.
- Change: If you put more money in than you need, you will get change back.
- The machine can only take $5.00 at a time. Please see the Reference Desk on the First Floor or the Second Floor Circulation Desk if you need more change, are printing more than $5.00 worth of printing, or need to pay via check. All printing is cash or check only.
2. Log on to the Print Release Terminal depending on how you sent your print job:
- From a Library Computer: log on with the Library Card Number or Guest Pass you used to log in to that computer
- From your own device, log on with the email address you used to send your documents or in the Print Portal
3. Select your job(s) and click "Print" on the top left. You can see how a job will come out with the "Preview" button to the right of each print job.
