Hello, Friends. We miss you very much and can't wait to see you again in person. Since that might be a little while, we're working on bringing you fun and educational virtual programs. Virtual Storytimes
We offer a variety of storytimes for all ages. Choose which one is right for you.
All VIRTUAL Storytimes and Youth Services programs will still be held even if Region 15 has a delayed opening, early dismissal, or cancellation, as long as presenters have power and internet service. We will post any cancellations or changes on the Southbury Library Youth Services Facebook Page.
Drop-In Storytime with Miss Ann
Drop-In Stories are offered every Monday morning at 10:30 am year round. All ages are welcome and there is no registration required. We are thrilled to be back just in time for summer! Join us live on our Southbury Library Youth Services Facebook Page Mondays at 10:30 am throughout the year. Pick up a thematic paper craft after each storytime. Available while supplies last.
Storytime with Miss Katie
Join us every Wednesday at 10:30 am on the Southbury Library Youth Services Facebook Page for Live stories with Miss Katie. Enjoy stories, songs, rhymes, puppets, and more! This storytime explores a variety of books, concepts, and subjects and is geared towards a slightly older audience. All ages are welcome. Pick up a thematic paper craft after each storytime. Available while supplies last.
Seasonal Storytimes
All seasonal storytimes are currently paused due to COVID-19. Please see our calendar of events for current virtual programs.
Babies & Books
Babies and Books is an interactive program for babies age 6-24 months and their parents and caregivers. Babies sit on their caretakers laps while the Children’s Librarian shares short books, songs and fingerplays. Registration is required.
Toddler Time
Parents and caregivers are invited to join their toddlers ages 2 and 3 for a 30 minutes of theme based stories and songs. Registration is required.
Stories & Crafts
Children ages 4 and 5 are invited to listen to longer stories and sing with the Children’s Librarian. Registration is required.

Grab the Mike with Jason Reynolds, National Ambassador for Young People's Literature:For his two-year term as National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature, Reynolds will visit small towns across America to have meaningful discussions with young people.
