To celebrate Earth Day, the Southbury Library invites you to share a poem on the theme of nature and our connection to the environment. Please come read for us, share your favorite poem of yours or another poet in celebration of our magnificent planet and the earthly wonders we all can embrace. We look forward to celebrating with you. Southbury Poet Laureate Faith Vicinanza will provide some poems of celebration to support this program.

Faith Vicinanza is a published poet and visual artist who has resided in Southbury since 2016. Ms. Vicinanza has published  4 books of poetry, with 3 more on the way. She was the host of the longest weekly poetry reading in state history. She also  created and directed a five day National Poetry Championship in Middletown in 1997 and the Connecticut Poetry Festival that same year. She was also a nominee for State Poet Laureate in 2000.

Like all Southbury Public Library programs, this program is free to attend and open to anyone regardless of town of residency.  Registration is required.
