Walt Disney famously said, “I hope we never forget that it all started with a mouse,” but did it? In this lecture, we will discuss the history of Walt Disney Studios & talk about many of the films they have produced over the years. Some were instant classics, and less so. Which are your favorites?

Valerie Gugala is a historian and lecturer with over 25 years of experience. She has spoken at libraries, schools, churches, senior groups, and park districts throughout the United States. She has a background in theatre, as she was the co-producer for the Bartlett Park District Theatre Program for over 10 years, and has worked with a traveling mystery theatre company, since 2001.

Valerie is an avid Disney fan, and she and her family have traveled to Disney World more than 30 times since 2007. They subscribe to Disney+ and own Disney Vacation Club & D23 Club Memberships. Her favorite Disney park is EPCOT Center, and her favorite Disney attraction is The Enchanted Tiki Room. Valerie resides in Bartlett, Illinois, with her husband and son plus 2 Siamese cats named Rajah & Jasmine.
