Event Details

The Southbury Public Library Youth Services department is thrilled to announce our spring StoryWalk featuring the picture book Big Dance by Aoife Greenham.

Walk the grounds of the Southbury Public Library while reading and experiencing Big Dance by Aoife Greenham. As Pippa watches her friends express themselves through their special dance moves, she wonders if she will ever find the dance in herself. With gentle encouragement from the others, Pippa discovers that it's all about taking the first step. A story about the freedom to be yourself and the fun of joining in. Stop at each station to read the text and follow the prompt. Experience the StoryWalk at your own pace, on your own time. There are no set times and no registration required. Stop by the Youth Services department to make or take home a craft.

StoryWalk combines the healthy activities of walking and movement with the healthy activity of reading a book. Reading is healthy? Yes, it is! Reading books helps your brain grow and stay active in the same way that exercising helps the rest of your body. Follow StoryWalk's path of pages and read along!

Big Dance StoryWalk begins on Monday, April 18 at noon and runs until Friday, June 3 at noon.

Graciously sponsored by the Friends of the Southbury Public Library. With thanks and permissions from publisher Child’s Play, Barking Dog Exhibits, and Curious City.
