Join Stephen Quandt, a feline behaviorist, as he explains why cats do what they do! The webinar will be followed by a Q&A where you can ask about your cat’s behavior issues!

This webinar pulls together and interrelates:

  • Cats' relationship to hunting and resting through  the Cycle of Predation that can lead to "drive-by"  ankle biting, play aggression, early morning wake up, and food aggression as examples.
  • Their sense of identity in being a predator or being prey on the Confidence Scale that can lead to similar behaviors but can also result in fearful cats, victimized cats (cat on cat  aggression), fear aggression and redirected aggression.
  • Their relationship with us as influenced by the Mother/Kitten Relationship that they experienced with their mother cat and that connects them to us through food needs, attention seeking, and their status with their most favored and/or least favored people.

Stephen is a shelter-trained and Fear Free Certified feline behaviorist with the Animal Care Centers of New York City, a not-for-profit contracted by the City of New York to provide animal related services to the residents of New York City. Prior to working for ACC he worked for many years with the ASPCA in New York City in behavior and adoptions and around the country on disaster and cruelty cases. Stephen is also in private practice as a feline behaviorist who specializes in a compassionate, educational and affordable approach to cat behavior. He and his husband share their home with their two cats, Jenny, a “happy-go-lucky”, blind-from-birth girl and her bestie, Cricket! You can follow their adventures on Jenny’s public Facebook and Instagram accounts @JennyTheBlindCat.
