Join us for this informative virtual lecture presented by Kathleen Titsworth.

No webcam is required for attendance.

From fake charities to offers of phony cures, the pandemic has given scammers new ways to get us to let our guard down. But just like the Grandparent Scam, the Lottery Scam, and the IRS Scam, these all share a common goal: to access your personal financial information and steal your hard-earned money. Don't let con artists get the best of you. Learn what new scams are out there and learn tips to avoid being a victim. Knowledge is your best defense!

Kathleen Titsworth is the Outreach Coordinator for the Connecticut Department of Banking.  She manages the agency’s educational outreach program by planning financial and investor education programs, organizing agency conferences and events and developing marketing strategies.  Kathleen spends much of her time presenting to groups in the community or representing the Department at events to promote the agency’s mission of protecting consumers.  She is on the steering committee of the Coalition for Elder Justice in Connecticut, serves on the Board of the Connecticut Jump$tart Coalition, and represents the Department on the Military Community Coalition and the Connecticut Saves Campaign.

Like all Southbury Public Library programs, this presentation is free to attend and open to anyone regardless of town of residency. Space is limited and registration is required. Please visit our website or call 203-262-0626 ext. 130 to register.
