Carrie Szwed from the White Memorial Conservation Center walks us through what makes an insect an insect and why they're so important in this virtual talk. Aimed at children in PreK through First Grade, this program mixed art, fun, and actual invertebrate specimens to really bug out on how important (and cool!) insects are.

This is a picture of a Mole Cricket from the White Memorial Conservation Center. These insects use their modified front limbs to help tunnel through soil, like a mole. Look at the bumpy legs on the right end of the cricket to see these digging digits!
