Pickup Window Guidelines

We are very excited to be offering Window Pickup Service! Online booking is now available. Please click here to register for your time slot.

You may also call 203-262-0626 and select option 6 to arrange a time on select days to pick up library materials.

Please review our pickup window guidelines below before making your appointment.

  • Southbury residents only.
  • All online booking appointments are subject to approval.
  • All sign ups and requests for additional materials must be completed by 12:00pm one business day before the pickup appointment.
  • Before you call for an appointment, please have your library card and list of materials you would like to request ready.
  • If you prefer, you can place holds for materials online with your card and then call us to book an appointment.
  • We cannot guarantee that all items you are looking for will be available. Please have several alternates prepared and we will do our best to accommodate you. If you would like help choosing your 5 items, give the reference desk a call at 203-262-0626 ext 130 or email Chris at cmurphy@biblio.org and we will happily assist you.
  • You are allowed up to 5 items per person in the household.
  • All materials will be checked out for an extended period.
  • If you are having someone else pick up your books, we need to know who to expect. 
  • In order to get your books, you or the person picking them up has to show their ID or library card through the window to staff.
  • Due to quarantine procedures currently in place, you are responsible for getting the items to your car. Staff cannot leave the building to assist you.
  • If you have items to return, they must be placed in the usual return slot in order to maintain quarantine procedures – please do not leave them on the pickup table.
  • Because of quarantine procedures, materials may stay on your card for an additional week before staff complete the return process; no fines or other penalties will be incurred.
  • If you cannot make your appointment please call ahead, we will be glad to rebook you.

 

We want to make this process safe to patrons and staff and fair to all our patrons; rules violations will result in no longer being able to use this service.
