We remain closed until further notice.

While our building is closed, please join us for virtual and off site events. For more information call 203-262-0626 ext 1 or email asksbylib@biblio.org.

Online Library Card Applications

Fill out an online library card application, and pick up your library card during certain off-site events! You can use your card for any of our online resources, or at any other public library in Connecticut.

When your library card is ready, we will email you with information about how and when to pick it up. This email will also include your library barcode number so you can get started right away with our online resources, including ebooks, audiobooks, films and more. If you're not sure where to start with our online offerings, check out this list of our three favorites!

You will also get an email from southbury.library@biblio.org shortly after filling out the form that we have received your request. If you do not see it within a few hours, check your spam/junk folder. If your email has routed this first email to spam/junk, the next email notifying you that your card is ready may also be routed there. If you do not see an email even in your spam folder after a few hours, please call us at 203-262-0626 ext. 1.

When you do pick up your card, we will need to verify your Southbury address with a piece of mail, updated license, or anything else with your name and address on it. Once your card is ready, you can pick it up during these select children's events:

If these dates do not work for you, we can arrange a different day and time for pick up.

P.S. If you are not a Southbury resident, you can still get a library card from your own hometown library! Reach out to them to find out what they need to make your card. Once we reopen, you can use your hometown library at the Southbury Public Library, too!
