Program Description

Event Details

This month, explore the science behind how antibodies are used to test blood types! We'll use a synthetic kit to identify the "blood types" of different samples and determine if any are compatible pairs for a blood transfusion. Get a glimpse of what it's like to work in a real clinical lab, learn about basic human biology related to blood typing, and explore how biochemical assays can give doctors critical information.

The kit we are using has synthetic blood samples and recreates the effects of real blood typing. No real blood will be present in this program.

Like all our teen programs, this event is free, open to residents of any town, and sponsored by the Friends of the Southbury Public Library. Registration is Required.
